Wes_montgomery
Wes Montgomery was one of the most influential guitarists in history, known for his warm tone and unique technique of playing with his thumb instead of a pick. Rising to prominence in the late 1950s and 1960s, he blended bebop complexity with soulful phrasing and innovative octave melodies that became a defining part of the jazz guitar vocabulary. Montgomery’s recordings and improvisational style profoundly shaped generations of guitarists across jazz, blues, and even rock, cementing his legacy as a pioneer who expanded both the expressive range and mainstream appeal of the electric guitar.
To kick-off the opening of the installation, the IND. Airport held an event and invited all of Wes' living relatives . At the event I got to meet his son and he was so excited about the video and thanked me for sharing his father's legacy with the world.

Microsite
The installation includes a microsite that is accessible by scanning a QR code next to each display. We worked with the Indiana Historical Society to create a site to house more information about each artist as well as recordings, historical documents, and more from their lives. I built the site using squarespace and mimicked the look and feel of the videos to match.
